The Solar Car Team is a student-led group exploring science, engineering, and renewable energy through the nation-wide solar car challenge. You can read more about this year’s competition HERE. We’re currently building a solar car to enter and participate in the 2-week competition from July 11-18 2019 racing in the Texas motor speedway in Fort Worth, Texas.

The original AHS Solar Car Team, Domi Freideger, and Dylan Kroes, successfully built and drove a solar car in the 2016 race. They have given us a great platform to start from and have set us up for success, but their finished car had numerous flaws and broken parts when we adopted it in 2017. Since then, we have been improving and fixing it for competition in July 2019.
